What Happens Here?

This is our Innistrad block constructed league. This league will be 6 weeks long where the player with the highest point total will win.

What is "Block Constructed"?

The Block Constructed format uses only the cards from a single block of Magic sets. In our case we will only be using the cards from Innistrad. Block Constructed formats generally take their name from the first set in the block. For example, the Time Spiral, Planar Chaos, and Future Sight sets make up the Time Spiral block. The smaller card pool of Block Constructed poses an interesting challenge for players. It also provides an opportunity to enjoy the setting of one of the Multiverse's planes in a focused environment.

Is There an Entry Fee?

No, this a free league. We believe that by providing free game space, we are helping promote the gaming industry as a whole and that our loyal patrons will support that playing space by purchasing their game materials in our store.

What are the Prizes?

Yes, there will be prizes for the top 2 players as well as lots of participation prizes.

Additional prizes are based on attendance. All of the prizes are TBD.

 

Do I Have to Come Every Week?

No, come whenever you can make it.  It is not required to play every week to be part of the league.  So even if you missed the beginning, you can always join.  Since the league is achievement based, there is always are chance to catch up to the points leaders.  Nor do you have to come for a full session.  If you can't stay for the full evening or need to come late, you will still be able to play. Just be sure to report your matches and achievements.

What Are The Rules?

This is a point league, the player with the most points at the end of the league wins.

There are a few ways you can earn points. Most are earned thru achievements. Others are earned other interactive and sometimes quirky ways.

The following earns you one point for each completed:

1. "Match points" - Win a match (best 2 out of 3). You may play the same person more then once, however you don't gain any points after the first one. +1
2. "Daily Points" - Just show up and play a game. Everyday you show up for the league you get a point, that's 6 free points just for showing up and playing! +1

The other way you earn points is by earning achievements (one shot points)

1. Perfect- win a game while with your life total at 20. +1 (Points)
2. Welcome to the Fray!- Play your first game in the league. +10
3. Join the Ranks- win a game with a non-werewolf human deck. +1
4. Full Moon- win a game with a werewolf deck. +1  (you may not get "full moon" with the same deck as Join the ranks)
5. The Thirst- win a game with a vampire deck. +1
6. The Walking dead- win a game with a zombie deck. +1
7. Pack Master- Bring a new player (doesn't have to be a a new player to magic just a new player to Little Shop of Magic.) +2 (repeatable)
8. Feed your Hunger- bring Brooke a cookie. +2
9. On the Grind- mill ten cards in a single turn. +2
10. Nothing left- win a game by "milling" your opponent. +2
11. Dark Transformations- Transform 3 or more cards in a single turn. +2
12. Curses!!!- enchant a player with 2 or more curses. +1
13. Ruler of all- win a multi player game. +3
14. Running out of time- have more cards in your graveyard then in your deck. +1
15. Chumpzilla- control 10 or more token creatures. +1
16. Overkill- deal 40 or more points of damage to your opponent in a single turn. +2
17. Its alive!- win a game with Laboratory Maniac's ability. +5
18. The come back- win a game at 1 life left. +2
19. Do you believe in ghosts?- Win a game with a spirit Deck +1
20. Deja Vu- Flashback 10 spells in a single game. +2
21. Denied!- Win the game by destroying an opponents laboratory Maniac. +1
22. Unlucky 13 - Give a creature -13 to power or toughness. +1
23. Brilliant!!! - Submit and have your idea picked for a NEW league achievement.(Email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) +1
24. Support your local store- buy a pack of magic during league day. (Please note: buy 2 get 1 free on all Magic packs every league day for those playing in the league). +1  (Repeatable once a week)
    

There will also be other in-store activities and one shot achievements.

The legal sets for this league are:

Innistrad and Dark Ascension.

The winner will be announced on the last week's FNM.
