Operation Bagration began on 22 June 1944, the same calendar day on which the Germans had previously invaded the Soviet Union in 1941, with probing attacks throughout the German lines. The main offensive began in the early morning of 23 June, with an artillery bombardment of unprecedented scale against the defensive works. Within hours, some sectors of the German defenses were in danger of being breached.

Starting on 03 September, we will be running an in-store Firestorm Bagration campaign for Flames of War. Players will be fighting for the German or Soviet forces in the battle over Byelorussia. Generals will move and deploy strategic assets for their forces to use. Players may then decide to use assets in their battles depending on there the battle is taking place. Historically, the Soviets pushed the Germans out of Byelorussia in less than 60 days, but in the past, the Germans have dominated the Russians when we've run this in the store. Will the Germans continue to anachronously dominate this area? Or will the Russians repeat history and push the Wermacht out of Byelorussia?
