Warhammer 40,000 Orkapalooza

What Happens Here?

Come joins us as we try to muster the largest WAAAAGH ever. We want to get as many points of painted Orks on the battlefield as we can: current record to beat is 35,000 points! This will be a mega-battle using the Warhammer 40,000 Apocalypse supplement and will feature a Ork banner design contest.

What are Da Rulez?

Bring as many painted greenskins as ya got. We want ta crush all da enemies under da green tide.

Git armies are welcome too, cuz da Orkses need someone ta crush.

To allow for such huge forces, Apocalypse rules will be in effect. Super-heavies are allowed and encouraged.

How does the Ork Banner Design Contest work?

In order to enter the Ork Banner Design Contest, you must submit a banner which meets the following requirements:

  • Dimensions: 3' x 4'
  • Materials: cloth & fabric (no paper banners, please)
  • Subject matter: well, it's a WAAGH banner - you figure it out! Just make sure that you keep it tactful: these will be hanging in our store so that they can be voted on.

The winner of the design contest will be awarded a $90 WH40K Battleforce, while voters in the contest will be entered in a drawing for a $50 GW boxed set (winner's choice). Contest winner will be announced during our WHFB Island of Blood Launch Event on September 4th.

What Is Warhammer 40,000?

Warhammer 40,000 (informally known as Warhammer 40K or simply 40K) is a tabletop miniature wargame produced by Games Workshop, set in a science fantasy universe.

Warhammer 40,000 was created by Rick Priestley in 1988 as the futuristic companion to Warhammer Fantasy Battle, sharing many game mechanics.

Expansions for Warhammer 40,000 are released from time to time, often to facilitate a certain sort of game, such as Cities of Death, Planet Strike and Apocalypse, which give rules for urban, planetary siege and large-scale combat, respectively. The game is currently in its fifth edition.
