PLANETSTRIKE CAMPAIGN IN A DAY
GETTING READY
This event is intended to promote Planetstrike games and all the cool scenery that accompany them. The rules are pretty straight-forward but, since one of the requirements to play is to bring an Imperial Bastion, we’ve organized a Bastion Day to help you assemble and paint this great kit (check out our calendar of events for exact time and date).
Participation in this lead-up event is a perfect way to get ready for the Planetstrike campaign, and will hopefully get you well on the road to playing grandiose and awesome games of Planetstrike on your own!
EVENT RULES
You must decide if you want to play an Attacker or a Defender and sign up on our store’s sign-up sheet for the event. Please be advised that we will assign roles on a first-come, first-serve basis: players should come to the event prepared to switch roles if necessary, ESPECIALLY if you do not pre-register EARLY (i.e. have an attacker AND a defender army ready to go, just in case!)
Regardless of your role, you must bring an assembled Imperial Bastion complete with heavy bolters and a heavy weapon (usually the Icarus pattern lascannon). Note you may bring (especially if you’re a Defender) more Planetstrike terrain if you wish (like Aegis Defense lines or Skyshield Landing Pads) with which to fortify your stronghold.
All games follow the Planetfall mission as per the rules found on page 14 of the Planetstrike book for round one of the event. Round two and three missions will be determined by the outcome of the previous battles, following the chart below:
|

Possible Mission:

|
One
|
Planetfall
|
|
Two

Seize & Destroy or Forlorn Hope

Note that some of these missions require additional scenery components to be properly run, so be sure to bring everything that you have!
Each game will be timed at two hours to complete with an additional 30 minutes to allow for setup and prep time.
At the beginning of each round the Defenders will set up the board. Every attempt will be made to fix the Defenders to a specific table throughout the campaign while the attackers will rotate to different tables from round to round.

Awards Ceremony
|
As each player will bring a bastion, each game will have two objectives the players are fighting over. This also means each player will have two points to spend on stratagems. These stratagems can change from round to round if the player wishes.
In each game, players will keep track of Kill Points as per the standard rules in the 40K rulebook. Kill points will be used to determine winners in the case of a draw and to determine the winner of the Mass Carnage award.
Participants will play in three games, and when possible, will be paired up against opponents with the same or similar records (Swiss Pairing System).
Each victory will be worth three Campaign Points, a draw will be worth two Campaign Points and a loss will earn you one Campaign Point. At the end of the day, the side with the most Campaign Points will be declared the winner.
RECOGNITION
In addition to the aforementioned Mass Carnage Award, players will also win awards for the best Bastion (both Attackers and Defenders), and the best Sportsman (both Attackers and Defenders).
Gift Certificates will be awarded based on attendance.
RECOGNITION
